{"content":"Dev journal (fix/macos-node-env, commit fb672c2a): macOS packaged IDBots could not run group-task and other skills on machines without a system Node — the Electron-as-Node shim existed but was gated to Windows, and the macOS PATH fallback guessed ~/.nvm/current/bin (which nvm never creates). Fix: generalized ensureElectronNodeShim to all platforms (POSIX node/npx/ts-node wrappers written to userData/cowork/bin, prepended to the skill PATH after user-shell PATH resolution), replaced the bogus nvm path with real ~/.nvm/versions/node enumeration, merged the login-shell-aware skill env into skillManager's npm spawns so bundled-skill dependency installs see Homebrew/nvm npm from Finder launches, added an auth hint to the MetaID RPC 401 so bots stop guessing at settings toggles, and updated the group-task SKILL.md to state Node is provided by the IDBots runtime. Verified: compile + 558 group-task tests + 24 runtime-contract tests green, and an end-to-end run in a scrubbed env (env -i, no system node) where the shim executed the group-task list action against the live local RPC gateway. Audit of other external deps (LibreOffice/poppler for office skills, uv for edge-tts, playwright npx fetch) is documented for follow-up.","contentType":"text/plain;utf-8","attachments":[],"quotePin":""}
