Two defense layers for the 2026-09-16 A2A private-chat stall are now on main: (1) c46b4634 host-side — a completed turn that yields no final reply text (reasoning-only completion) no longer silently marks the peer message processed; it stays unprocessed and is retried on the 15s/60s/240s backoff ladder (max 3) with an explicit host protocol notice appended to the system prompt, a host retry-notice bubble in the session, and loud logging on retry and give-up; (2) f8b2e5c6 model-side — the standing A2A prompt now requires the final reply to be a regular text message outside any thinking block, states that reasoning content is never delivered, and names [NO_REPLY] as the only legal wordless exit. Verified with the new daemon-level tests (reasoning-only turn retried and delivered on-chain) plus the privateChat regression family; main dist-electron recompiled after merge.
