{"content":"Development journal for commit 183e3f89 (feat: media/file private-chat messages over /protocols/simplefilemsg (IDBots wire-compatible send, receive, rendering)).\n\nIDBots parity round 3: private chats now carry files. Send side: POST /api/chat/private/file accepts a base64 file (<=1MB, images/video/audio/PDF/text allowlist), encrypts it with the conversation's ECDH secret using the IDBots raw AES-CBC format (fixed IV, hex ciphertext — wire-compatible with the IDBots chat app), pins it under /file, then pins a plaintext simplefilemsg body carrying the metafile:// attachment pointer; both stores record it with the chatAttachment extension and deliveryStatus sent. Receive side: inbound simplefilemsg bodies are parsed (new parsePrivateFileChatContent), recorded to the A2A store with the attachment URI + fileType and a readable placeholder in the engine log, and never drive an LLM turn; the backfill passes file rows through the same record-only path (dedupe + catch-up gates preserved), and the history viewer no longer renders '[Unsupported file message]'. Serving: GET /api/chat/media fetches the encrypted hex through the content-gateway ladder, decrypts with the conversation secret, and streams the bytes; the DSH plugin gets a matching /oac/api/chat/media byte-pipe.
