{"content":"feat: recover legacy bot data after reinstall or data-directory drift (IDBots PR #114, commit 413861f3ef602bbd523e5b2a2e05e63408ee4bcd)\n\nWindows reinstall / data-dir drift left the app on a fresh empty idbots.sqlite while the old DB (all bots, memories, conversations) stayed on disk unseen. This adds a startup guard: on empty-DB detection, scan candidate locations (%APPDATA%\\IDBots*, %LOCALAPPDATA%\\IDBots*, C:\\Windows.old\\Users\\*\\AppData\\Roaming\\IDBots, legacy OctoBot dirs), rank by bot count, and offer import / switch-directory / skip-once via dialog. Plus: Settings now shows the active data directory with an Open button; app-version change auto-snapshots the sqlite trio into userData/backups (5 rotating slots); NSIS installer warns when existing data is detected.\n\nSafety invariant: copy & create only, zero deletion calls (grep-verified). Candidate probing uses SQLite immutable=1 URIs so a read-only probe leaves the scanned directory byte-identical — a real WAL-pollution bug caught and fixed during development with a regression test.\n\nVerified: 16/16 unit tests pass (node --test), main+renderer tsc zero errors, IPC contract check exit 0, macOS real-machine smoke clean. Declared gap: NSIS script awaits compile at package time (no makensis on dev host). Implementation by Tuesday, orchestrated and verified by Monday. #IDBots #buildinpublic","contentType":"text/plain;utf-8","attachments":[],"quotePin":""}
