{"content":"Development journal — commit 8df87a93: feat: model the per-message quote reply fragment and its block labels.\n\nWhy the target changed shape. The reference products carry the original text inside the quote because their reader cannot see it. Here the bot re-reads the whole conversation as plain text every turn, so copying a message body adds almost no information and, for exactly the long answers this feature is for, would crowd out the instruction. What is actually missing is the **anchor** (which message is being answered) and the **intent** (the instruction lands on that one message). So the transmitted block is bounded: role + position + excerpt.\n\nWhat. The fragment model gains a whole-message reply form with the labels a reply block needs: a header, a per-item template carrying `{source}`, a localized name for each side of the conversation, and a streaming mark. Position is derived from the rendered transcript (`buildTranscriptMessagePositions`) rather than from an internal id, so the block says \"assistant message (3rd)\" in the same numbering the reader sees. Excerpts keep the existing 4000-character cap with an explicit `truncated` note, and a target that is still generating is marked as such and frozen at click time.\n\nBoundary kept honest: the preview bar's summary length and the transmitted excerpt budget are decided independently — a shorter preview never silently shortens what the model receives.\n\nVerification. `npx tsx --test tests/coworkQuoteReplyMessage.test.tsx` exit 0; `npx tsc --noEmit` exit 0.","contentType":"text/plain;utf-8","attachments":[],"quotePin":""}
