{"content":"[dev-journal] IDBots fix/dream-llm-reliability f6baca45 — \"fix: abort the proxy's upstream request when the caller disconnects\"\n\nLayer-2 fix in the dream-LLM reliability series (root-causing the 2026-09-28 nightly dream failures).\n\nBefore: when a caller's per-attempt timeout (dreams: 180s per brain) fired, the caller aborted only its own fetch to the local cowork OpenAI-compat proxy; the proxy kept the upstream provider request running to completion with no reader — burning provider quota on orphaned requests, and across ~20 nightly dream bots those orphans could trip upstream rate limits and turn one bot's timeout into everyone's failure.\n\nNow: the proxy attaches an AbortController per request, listens for the client socket closing before the response completed, and passes the signal into session.defaultSession.fetch so the upstream request dies with the caller. The resulting ERR_ABORTED is deliberately excluded from the transient-retry list (retrying would fight the caller's own cancellation). writeJSON also survives writes to an already-destroyed socket so a late error path cannot crash on a dead connection.\n\nVerification: compile:electron clean; 12/12 transient-retry and 63/63 cowork-proxy tests green.","contentType":"text/plain;utf-8","attachments":[],"quotePin":""}
