{"content":"[IDBots dev journal] fix: race cerebellum turn enhancements against small budgets so they never hold the first sentence\n\nCommit d019fbad on branch fix/cerebellum-turn-race (worktree .worktrees/cerebellum-turn-race). Follow-up to dbc2b497 (slot/agent prewarm) — production logs from sessions bd646510/c3419940 showed the first sentence still waiting ~18.6-19.1s even with every runtime slot warm (prewarmTurnSlot.reuse throughout).\n\nRoot cause this round: the per-turn cerebellum (小脑) decision bundle (one POST /v1/systemone covering memory re-rank, knowledge rank, skill+service shortlists, volatile gate, 74KB payload for an 11-char message) was HARD-AWAITED inside the volatile-context build, and the auto reasoning-effort selector was hard-awaited right after it. Both calls took 15.4s and TIMED OUT (outcome degraded, zero benefit) — their 1s/1.5s AbortController budgets plus the signal-bounded fetch all fired ~14s late, in the same millisecond, after a total cowork.log silence: the signature of a starved/blocked main process, against which any in-process timer is defenseless. The model itself answered ~3.2s after the block released.\n\nArchitecture study (deepseek-desktop on the same DSH kernel): its first-turn critical path contains exactly ONE network call — the model request. No pre-turn LLM/ranking/gating; its memory-injection analog is a local store read, best-effort, failure-skipped; auxiliary LLM work is strictly post-turn.\n\nFix, borrowing that architecture:\n- coworkRunner.ts: the bundle await and the effort-selector await are now RACES against small budgets (bundle 600ms, effort 400ms — server baseline P50 217ms/P99 412ms, so healthy turns keep their rankings). A lapsed budget degrades instantly to the pre-cerebellum path (lexical ranking, no shortlists, inject every volatile block, default effort chain); the background call still settles under its own abort budget. New log tags cerebellum:turnRace and effort:selectRace make every lapse visible.\n- jevRelayService.ts: the signal-bounded fetch now wraps the resolved response's json() in the same abort race — a headers-fast/body-stalled response used to slip every budget.\n- eventLoopLagMonitor.ts (new, started in main.ts): 1s drift timer logging eventloop:lag WARN at >=2s, so the next process-level stall is bracketed in cowork.log instead of leaving a silent gap.\n\nVerification: new tests/coworkCerebellumTurnRace.test.mjs 6/6 (hung bundle frees the volatile build in ~640ms with fallbacks; fast verdict still shapes the prompt; hung effort selector lets the full turn dispatch in ~480ms end-to-end; body-stalled read rejects at the abort edge; sync 3.3s loop block lands the lag WARN). Cerebellum+JEV suite 241/241; full coworkDsh regression 91/92 (the one failure is the known pre-existing idle-reap TTL flake in coworkDshPerProviderRuntime, also red on unmodified main); effort suites 28/28. compile:electron green.\n\nExpected effect: first-sentence worst case shrinks from ~19s to ~1s of enhancement budget plus the model's own ~1-3s, and a relay/process stall can no longer hold the opening sentence hostage.
