Built the three-layer identity foundation: (1) src/core/owner/rootOwnerIdentity.ts — the human's portable Owner Identity CRUD (0600, one per machine, ~/.metabot/owner/root-owner-identity.json) mirroring the device identity; the old owner identity is semantically renamed Device Identity with zero data migration. (2) src/core/owner/deviceOwnerBinding.ts — device→owner binding publish: signOwnerBinding (root owner key over metabot-owner-binding:<deviceGmid>, exact 07-owner-binding wire format) + /info/owner pin written by the device signer; FUNDING DECISION (a): idempotent MVC gas subsidy requested first (requestMvcGasSubsidy, same as onboarding), subsidy failure does not abort (wallet may already be funded) but a subsequent write failure surfaces an actionable top-up error; daemon passes the traffic sponsor hook so writes bill like owner /info/name pins. (3) src/core/trust/ — rootOwnerResolver walks /info/owner up to 2 hops (bot→device→owner) with offline verifyOwnerBinding per hop, invalid/unverifiable links terminate the walk (legacy devices resolve to themselves = today's behavior); resolveDeviceOwner gives the 1-hop view for later phases; trustCacheStore persists per-subject entries (pinId-keyed) at ~/.metabot/owner/trust-cache.json, cache hits inside a 5-min TTL serve zero chain reads, forceRefresh/invalidate re-walk; ownerPinRead reads the latest author pin via existing MANAPI endpoints (info→address→pin list→content), injectable for tests. CLI: metabot owner create|import|who|rename|reveal|exists|path|bind-device + /api/owner/* daemon routes (bind-device runs daemon-side). Docs: 07-owner-binding generalized semantics, storage-layout v2 amendment 2026-10-16 (semantic rename + 3 new files incl. reserved trust-local/team-registry), design spec status + open-question decisions. Tests: 21 new (CRUD roundtrip, sign/verify roundtrip, publish incl. subsidy paths, resolver 0/1/2-hop, invalid-signature termination, cache hit/TTL/persistence) — all pass, plus owner/help/mainImport/daemonLifecycle regression suites green.
